I am actually standing in the entrance area.

Still some parts missing

More and more one can recognize the full dimensions and shape of the house.

Weekend activities

I thought a rabbit's foot is supposed to be luck??? Poor little fellow...

This is Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula. A nice little village where the French Settlers left a permanent mark. You don't find many roads and streets there but a great deal of "Rue's" and the police station is called Gendarmerie. We went for a 4 hour walk in these beautiful hills.

Another sunny day in the weekend let us to walk up Mt. Grey near Amberley, about 1 hour north of Christchurch. The Waipara area is known for a great Riesling. On the way back we loaded our trunk with 2 cases. This should be sufficient for the next couple of months.

This one is for Esther's former colleagues from Arcadis. Still think about you guys once in a while, at least every time I use this backpack, which is a lot. "Sally" likes it in NZ!! :-)

Building progress - part 2

So far the weather has been great for the build. Sunny and dry. Only the Nor'wester (Foehn) gave them a bit of a challenge to prevent the polystyrene sheets from blowing all over the place.

The 3rd dimension

Building progress - part 1

As long as you can bet on it, there will be races

I thought this is supposed to be a floor, not a gravel pit...

There is a lot of different stuff underneath the concrete: pebbles, mesh, pipes, polystyrene and plastic sheets.

Concrete floor is poured and smoothed.
